The Barbie Top by Charm Patterns

This fabric was gifted to me in exchange for a post & review on Minerva.

Ever since I first saw the Barbie Top on Gertie’s Patreon I thought it looked like the perfect everyday top and I’m so happy I finally decided to try it out.

All the seams are sewn with a zigzag to allow for the stretch at settings 1.5 and 2.5 and I cut a size 10/Cup size A-DD which is cropped at the waistline. The sleeves are 3/4 and I just love this length. I used French seams for the sleeves but just zigzagged the others. For the waist I tucked under the raw edge and enclose it with stitches close to the edge. The zigzag actually gives a little decorative stitch which I quite like on garments like these. The only other alteration I did was to take it in at the waist further so it’s hugging my figure a little bit more.

I also used this fabric to make a Joan Wiggle Dress Slash Neck Top which you can see here.
