New 2023 summer menu at The Raging Bull

PR invite // All thoughts and opinions are, of course, my own.

The Raging Bull is the sister bar of The Cocktail Mafia and Patron Saint and are located on Lothian Road. I was here for a cocktail masterclass about a year ago when the last summer menu was released and it’s such a pleasure to be back once again!

The bar has a lovely relaxed vibe and almost looks like a speakeasy with quirky little details in its corners. The menu consists of a varied mix of cocktails and the girl who took our order also informed us that they’re happy to do traditional cocktails that are not listed on the menu as well. The staff was brilliant and so helpful with both recommendations and other information.

I started with a P.I.M.P which stand for Port, Ice, Macallan and Pepper and contains Macallan 12 Whisky, White Port, Cracked Black Pepper Syrup. Cody opted for the Banana Colada with Langs Banana Rum, Lime, Coconut Syrup, Pineapple Juice, Cream. It’s brilliant that we have such similar taste in cocktails so we could share them all. I really enjoyed the whisky cocktail and the white port just made it refreshing and gave a touch of sweetness without being to sticky sweet or take away from the other flavours. And who doesn’t like a Colada? I really liked that the banana flavour comes from the rum so it wasn’t overwhelmingly banana, but just a touch for a twist on this tropical treat.

For second orders I couldn’t resist a cocktail off the Espresso Martini section which is the specialty for The Raging Bull. I chose the Hive Jive with Makers Mark Bourbon, Kahlua, Honeycomb Syrup, Espresso and Cody went for the Lemon Negroni with Secret Garden Lemon Gin, Cocchi Vermouth, Select Aperitivo, Lemon Bitters. Also two lovely cocktails. My choice was quite the dessert-y treat and the honeycomb flavour went so well with the coffee notes and the Lemon Negroni would be great for those who prefer their negroni a little bit less bitter and it’s a great summer serve!

It was so tricky to choose off the menu so I have a feeling we’ll be back for another cocktail soon just so we can try some of the other creations.
