Dinner of The Dons with Don Papa Rum

PR invite // All thoughts and opinions are, of course, my own.

Don Papa Rum invited me for a Dinner of the Dons at the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens and served up some flavour combinations that were new to me.

I really enjoy a dinner where each dish is paired with a cocktail because it creates such a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It was even better to see some classics like the espresso martini, negroni and Moscow mule on the line up but of course with the Don papa rum instead of their original spirits. The Moscow mule and the negroni worked particularly well and I was glad the rum wasn’t overly sweet, in spite of having sugar and vanilla added to it. The food was also lovely and I really enjoyed the starter of grilled pineapple and pork croquettes. The most interesting item on the menu was the sweetcorn ice cream which was surprisingly tasty. The sweetcorn flavour was definitely there, but not overwhelming.
